The Roaming Site Supervised, based in Cape Town (and surrounding areas) and reporting to the Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for maintaining service levels and staffing requirements at various sites. The role is aligned to the strategic and operational imperatives of the company. A successful track record working in a similar role within the service industry combined with deep experience in the TES and Recruitment environment is essential.
Purpose of the Role:
To effectively supervise and manage assigned employees and client requirements, ensuring compliance with company and client policies, procedures and service standards. The Roaming Supervisor is responsible for monitoring attendance, discipline, operational requirements, incidents, employee queries and client service delivery across assigned sites.
Responsibilities:
The Roaming Supervisor will abide by all work practices and procedures of the employer and /or its clients. The employee is required to familiarise themselves with all applicable policies, rules, procedures, resolutions, regulations, terms and conditions of employment. It is a requirement to have a working and available cellular phone and the employee must be available after hours and weekends to attend to client and company needs.
Where a company vehicle is allocated, a company vehicle you may be required to transport employees as operationally required.
- Implement and manage roll call of assignees and communicate absences to clients to obtain approval for replacements. Only approved assignees are allowed on site as per schedule list.
- Ensure all assignees that are on duty are scheduled as per approved schedule issued and manage matters where required.
- Accompany drivers during vehicle checks to ensure that the process is conducted correctly.
- Check that the assignees are wearing the correct uniforms accordance with client requirements.
- Record all the route delays on the relevant trip sheets.
- Conduct daily checks with client regarding vehicle offences and communicate any offences telephonically and issue disciplinary notices as soon as possible.
- Manage and all on route incidents in real time and provide feedback on a daily basis.
- Maintain and file individual assignee documentation separately at the office.
- Resolve client and assignee queries within 24 hours. Where delays occur, communicate these in writing and provide estimated completion date.
- Complete incident reports within one working day or 24 hours, and submit to team leader (i.e.: COIDA etc.).
- Process sick/annual/family responsibility leave on a weekly basis and ensure all supporting documentation is submitted to regional office by 14:00 on Tuesdays.
- Supply new assignees details to clients with relevant documentation (i.e.: , crim check, application, approval document) and/or any other required documents.
- Provide immediate feedback to management and clients regarding incidents and operational matters.
- Action reasonable requests and formalise requests from clients within 24 hours.
- Ensure that all assignees on site are aware of policies and procedures of clients and ensure signed documentation is held on file.
- Ensure all assignees are issued PPE in accordance with site specific requirements.
- Ensure that all assignees on site are dressed according to client specific requirements.
- Ensure all assignees have the required identification documents and licenses available daily.
- Report all wage-related queries y to the office immediately.
- Initiate disciplinary action when required, as per company policies, upon written request/complaint from clients.
- Consult operations manager/IR department immediately and assist where required in gathering and pre-hearing investigations for any IR related issues.
- Provide written feedback on a weekly basis to clients on any IR related issues.
- Ensure management is included in all relevant communications.
- Maintain effective communication through electronic correspondence and ensure a quick turn-around time on all requests.

- Previous supervisory experience in the logistics, distribution and warehouse and wholesale and retail industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Officer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Extensive knowledge of the NBCRFLI agreement and dispute resolution processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
- Good working knowledge of the BCEA/LRA.
- Proven report writing skills and experience.
