Dispatch Supervisor

Dispatch Supervisor position available in Cape Town.

We are currently hiring a Dispatch Supervisor for a permanent position based in Montague Gardens, Cape Town.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate drivers and vehicle loading assistants.
• Assist with daily dispatch route planning and loading activities.
• Coordinate and oversee the loading of customer orders.
• Ensure all orders, invoices and trip sheets are correctly documented.
• Check products for correct labelling, batch numbers, packaging and weight before dispatch.
• Ensure temperature and quality standards are maintained.
• Monitor attendance and report absenteeism to the Logistics Manager.
• Ensure staff follow company procedures, safety requirements and job responsibilities.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the dispatch area.
• Reduce product wastage and stock damage during loading.
• Train new employees on dispatch and loading procedures.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in dispatch, logistics or warehouse operations.
• Experience supervising drivers and/or loading personnel.
• Good knowledge of dispatch, loading and route coordination.
• Strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and team leadership skills.
• Knowledge of product quality, stock handling and temperature-control procedures advantageous.
