Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics and Dispatch Coordinator to manage daily transportation operations in Cape Town. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of goods, managing driver schedules, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet customer demands. This role requires excellent communication and problem-solving skills to handle the dynamic nature of logistics and provide efficient dispatch services.

You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the Western Cape region, acting as the central point of contact for drivers and clients.

• Coordinate and schedule daily deliveries, assigning routes and vehicles to drivers based on efficiency and customer requirements.
• Monitor driver progress and communicate any delays or issues to customers and relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, delivery times, and driver performance.
• Liaise with warehouse staff, drivers, and clients to ensure seamless coordination of pickup and delivery operations.
• Utilize dispatch software and communication tools to manage the flow of information and operational adjustments.
• Respond to customer inquiries and resolve any logistical challenges promptly and effectively.

• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator, Dispatcher, or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas transportation networks.
• Proficiency in using dispatching software and standard office applications.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage relationships with drivers and clients.
• A Grade 12 certificate or equivalent; further qualifications in logistics or supply chain are a plus.
