Job Purpose

The primary purpose of an Automotive Parts Picker and Packer is to ensure the accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders. This role bridges the gap between warehouse inventory and the end customer, ensuring that the correct vehicle components—ranging from small sensors to heavy engine blocks—are identified, quality-checked, and securely packaged for transit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Picking: Locate specific automotive parts within the warehouse and storeroom using bin locations, part numbers, or barcode scanners.

  • Quality Inspection: Verify that parts are not damaged and match the exact specifications

  • Secure Packaging: Select appropriate packaging materials to protect fragile components

  • Inventory Accuracy: Assist in cycle counts and report low stock levels or discrepancies in bin locations to the warehouse manager.

  • Safety & Maintenance: Operate warehouse equipment (trolleys, pallet jacks, or forklifts) safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment to prevent workplace hazards.

Requirements & Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Critical for distinguishing between very similar automotive components (e.g., left-hand vs. right-hand side mirrors).

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy automotive parts repeatedly.

  • Technical Literacy: Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or basic computer skills for scanning and labeling.

  • Product Knowledge: (Preferred) A basic understanding of vehicle makes and models to better identify parts.
