Warehouse Manager Job Cape Town area,South Africa,Warehouse

We are looking for a strong, experienced and hands‑on Warehouse Manager to take responsibility for the day‑to‑day management of a busy warehouse and distribution operation.

This is a high-volume environment, so we are looking for someone with strong work ethic, excellent leadership skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

Oversee all receiving, storage, stock control and dispatch operations
Manage and lead the warehouse team effectively
Ensure accurate stock management and reconciliation
Conduct and oversee daily, weekly and monthly stock counts
Participate in annual stock takes
Monitor stock levels, warehouse capacity and space utilisation
Plan and coordinate the dispatch of products and deliveries
Ensure loads are accurately checked prior to dispatch
Oversee vehicle and equipment maintenance
Manage warehouse administration across receiving, dispatch and general operations
Monitor warehouse reports and stock‑related information
Develop, implement and maintain effective warehouse procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, housekeeping and security
Identify operational issues and implement solutions to improve efficiency
Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth warehouse and distribution operations

Requirements

Minimum 5 years' experience in Warehouse Management or Warehouse Supervision
Proven experience managing and leading warehouse staff
Strong knowledge of warehouse management, stock control and logistics procedures
Syspro experience is required
Strong computer literacy and MS Office skills
Experience working in a high-volume warehouse or distribution environment
Hands‑on approach to warehouse management
Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures
Experience with in the steel, tube, rebar or related industry will be highly advantageous
Ability to identify and understand mild steel products, including sheet and plate
Retail or distribution‑centre experience will be advantageous
