Operations Manager - FMCG Distribution

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organized Operations Manager to oversee their FMCG distribution center in Upington . This critical role involves managing all aspects of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory control, and staff supervision to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery of goods. You will play a key part in optimizing workflows, implementing best practices, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity within the fast-paced fast-moving consumer goods supply chain.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the FMCG distribution warehouse, including receiving, storage, order picking, and dispatch.
• Develop and implement efficient operational procedures and workflows to optimize productivity and minimize costs.
• Manage and develop a team of warehouse staff, providing training, guidance, and performance management.
• Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
• Manage inventory levels accurately, conduct regular stocktakes, and implement measures to prevent loss or damage.
• Liaise with logistics providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of orders.

• Proven experience in operations management or warehouse management, preferably within the FMCG or logistics sector .
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
• Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to operational challenges.
• Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and general computer literacy.
• A relevant qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration is highly desirable.
