Overview
IMSA is committed to equity and excellence, including the active recruitment of students from all areas of Illinois. IMSA’s PROMISE Program addresses the unique challenges of culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse (CLED) students who have an interest in STEM education by providing academic enrichment programming at low to no cost. This grant-funded program is open to all students, especially Black or African American students, Latinx students, students who qualify for the national free or reduced-price meal program, as well as students from rural Illinois counties.

Currently, we are seeking a Program Assistant for the Spring 2026 PROMISE Program which serves non-IMSA students currently enrolled in the 7th grade
. The program will run on 8 designated Saturday sessions.
- Expected work hours are Saturdays 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- Maximum number of participants: 50, divided into two groups
- Session Dates:
- February 28
- March 21
- March 28
- April 4
- April 18
- April 25
- May 2
- May 16
- Two 90-minute classes each consisting of approximately 25 students.
- Each class will include a 5-10 minute snack break.
- Schedule:
- Class 1: 9:00 AM - 10:30 AM
- Class 2: 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

- Attend all scheduled Saturday program sessions, including orientation
- Supervision duties begin the moment the first tutor arrives until the last student departs at the conclusion of the program
- Providing support during each session: check in, classroom setup, snack distribution, transitions, etc.
- Weekly check of student tutor availability
- Attend all preparation meetings such as tutor training
- Assist Program Manager gather materials as needed
- Serve as liaison with parents regarding safety, security, or emotional concerns as needed
- Evaluate program effectiveness to develop improved methods
- All other duties as assigned
This position pays $20.00 per hour. This position is not benefits eligible.
