American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring active IL RN licensure and fetal monitoring certification.
Requirements- Active IL RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required
- 3+ years of Labor & Delivery experience preferred
- Cesarean section circulator experience preferred
- Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) recovery experience preferred
- OB Emergency Department (OBED) experience preferred but not required
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
- Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required
- STABLE certification preferred but not required
- Labor and Delivery/Birthing Center unit
- Unit cares for approximately 400 patients and supports an average of 120 deliveries per month
- 7 Labor and Delivery rooms and 2 dedicated Operating Rooms for obstetrical surgical procedures
- 6-bed Obstetric Emergency Department (OBED) and Level II-E Nursery onsite
- Night shift , 36 hours per week
- Weekend requirement of up to 2 weekends per 6 weeks (may vary)
- Holiday coverage as needed
- No on-call requirements
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and post-operative obstetric patients
- Care for high-risk and high-acuity maternal patients at 32 weeks gestation and above
- Function as a cesarean section circulator and provide post-anesthesia recovery care as appropriate
- Interpret fetal heart rate patterns and intervene appropriately to promote maternal and fetal well-being
- Collaborate with physicians, certified nurse midwives, anesthesia providers, neonatal teams, and interdisciplinary staff
- Support emergency obstetrical interventions and participate in rapid response situations
- Provide patient and family education while promoting a positive birth experience
- Adhere to professional, regulatory, and organizational standards of nursing practice
