About the Job:

The purpose of the Quality Engineer is to utilize quality methodologies and analytical techniques to monitor the performance of Gentex product, purchased goods, and processes, and to focus on continual improvement efforts associated with each. Additionally, the QE shall provide support for the Quality Management System (QMS) as required by ISO 9001 and AS 9100 standards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Support, develop, and maintain key elements of the QMS
• Collect/analyze/execute QMS data
• Participate in Internal QMS audits
• Participate in Continuous Improvement teams
• Participate and/or lead root cause analysis & corrective action teams
• Define & document acceptance criteria
• Work with supply chain and evaluate & measure supplier performance
• Interpret customer and internal quality requirements and develop quality plans to ensure conformance
• Represent Quality in the New Product Development Process as required

Requirements:

EDUCATION AND/OR PROFESSIONAL LICENSE(s):

The QE must possess a BS degree in a technical discipline. Certification to a Quality discipline is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum three years of previous experience in quality concepts, metrics and problem-solving methodologies; including supplier quality, manufacturing quality, internal auditing, SPC, Root Cause analysis, and COPQ reduction
• Working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office suite in the generation of professional documents and reports. Use of Minitab or equivalent statistical software packages a must.

KNOWLEDGE,

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

:

• Fundamental understanding of Continuous Improvement techniques
• Basic knowledge in metrology techniques and outputs
• Good oral & written communication skills
• Team focused with the ability to participate in and/or lead cross-functional teams
• Familiarity with basic Quality Management System standards such as ISO 9001 or AS 9100
• Basic knowledge with Process Control tools, and statistical techniques

Gentex’s Carbondale facility is located in Northeastern Pennsylvania in Lackawanna County. Carbondale, PA is about twenty miles north of Scranton, PA, 50 miles south of Binghamton, NY, and about 125 miles from New York City and Philadelphia. The area hosts numerous nearby state parks, nature preserves and local colleges and universities, including The University of Scranton and Marywood University. Northeast Pennsylvania is a beautiful area and offers an excellent cost of living.
