Accounting Manager, Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting
For an ambitious practice accountant, this offers the useful combination that firms somehow manage to make surprisingly rare: good clients, strong senior people to learn from and somewhere to progress.
The Accounts Manager will join a successful independent accountancy firm enjoying strong organic growth and further investment.
The client base is predominantly privately owned and entrepreneurial businesses, with relationships built through regular personal contact rather than transactional compliance work.
Day to dayAccounts Manager - Practice
Cardiff £55,000-£65,000
- Managing a portfolio of business clients
- Reviewing year-end accounts and associated working papers
- Coordinating jobs from planning through to completion
- Supporting clients with day-to-day accounting questions
- Meeting business owners regularly
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members
- Managing deadlines and workflow
- Working closely with senior managers and directors
The Accounts Manager should already have solid experience within accountancy and ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified.
You’ll need enough technical confidence to review work accurately, but personality matters here too. The firm wants people who can sit across the table from a business owner, understand what they are trying to achieve and communicate without burying everything in accounting terminology.
Career developmentThere is a strong track record of people progressing through the business.
Several members of the Cardiff team have ten years or more service, while ongoing growth is opening up further opportunities at Senior Manager and Director level.
The wider accountancy business is highly profitable and continuing to invest, so progression isn't dependent on waiting indefinitely for somebody above you to leave.
