An opportunity has arisen for a Board Support Officer to join the Board Business Unit at Public Health Wales. This is an interesting and varied role supporting Board, Committee and Executive‑level business at the heart of the organisation. The postholder will provide high‑quality business management, corporate governance and administrative support, helping to ensure that key meetings and governance processes are well coordinated, accurate and delivered to deadline.

The role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leaders, Board members and a wide range of stakeholders, while developing expertise in corporate governance, meeting management, reporting and assurance processes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate Board, Committee and Executive‑level meetings, including agendas, papers, minutes, action logs and forward plans.
  • Support key corporate governance processes, including policies, declarations of interest, assurance trackers, audit recommendations and Welsh Health Circulars.
  • Prepare clear reports, correspondence, briefings and monitoring information to support effective governance and decision‑making.
  • Maintain accurate records, systems and documentation in line with governance, confidentiality and information governance requirements.
  • Prioritise a busy and varied workload, managing multiple deadlines and balancing competing demands effectively.
Qualifications and Key Skills
  • Build effective working relationships with Board members, senior leaders and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organised and proactive, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work at pace while managing competing priorities and balancing multiple tasks in a busy corporate environment.
