Position: Project Support Officer (DARPL Project: Diversity and Antiracist Professional Learning)

Project Support Officer (DARPL Project: Diversity and Antiracist Professional Learning)

DARPL is funded by the Welsh Government and facilitated by Cardiff Metropolitan University. We are a community of practice that collaborates with schools, universities, local authorities, and national partners. DARPL implements high-impact projects that influence practices, policies, and professional learning across Wales and beyond. Our focus is on delivering anti‑racist professional learning and developing anti‑racist research within the education sector in Wales.

We are working together to support the Welsh Government's Anti‑Racist Wales Action Plan.

We are now seeking a Project Support Officer to support the aims, administration, and project operations. These will principally include administrative support, liaison with the Project Director and Project Manager, core team, partners, participants, translators, event planning and delivery support, and data collection and analysis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys purpose‑driven work and wants to contribute to innovative, value‑led projects that make a real difference.

You will lead the way by:

  • Provide administrative support in scheduling and organising in‑person and online meetings, preparing minutes and disseminating papers in advance for the Operational and Management Boards. Support live event preparation and delivery, including coordination of schedules, speakers, and online platforms, while facilitating communication among project teams and partners.
  • Contribute to project design, data collection, and resource management in collaboration with the Project Director, Project Manager and broader team to ensure effective progress towards objectives.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and support in preparing and presenting progress reports and findings to stakeholders, while supporting potential challenges that may impact project outcomes.
  • Engage in continuous professional and staff development.
What you’ll bring

You will bring strong project management abilities and anti‑racist approaches in professional practice and Welsh education policy, paired with effective project administration skills and a keen ability to navigate established processes. You will excel in your role as an intermediary, fostering collaboration between project teams and partners while clearly communicating complex information, both orally and in writing. Your proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, and data‑handling software such as Google Analytics and MS Forms, will enable you to manage project data efficiently.

Drawing on your initiative and creativity, you will solve challenges that arise within the project context, ensuring adherence to deadlines and financial regulations. Your experience coordinating projects with a focus on quality assurance, combined with strong attention to detail and a flexible work style, will contribute significantly to the team’s success. Additionally, your willingness to travel and engage with various campuses and venues for events will enhance our collaborative efforts.
