Office Administrator/ Coordinator
To support our Schools, we’re looking for a Business Support Officer to deliver high-quality administrative and operational support across finance, procurement, and staff processes. This is a varied and fast‑paced role where your work will help ensure the smooth and efficient running of key business functions, supporting both academic and professional services colleagues.
As the Business Support Officer, you’ll play a vital role in managing financial transactions, coordinating travel and purchasing activities, and acting as a key point of contact for staff enquiries. Your ability to organise, analyse information, and provide clear guidance will help drive effective decision‑making and support the wider objectives of the schools.
You’ll support by:
- Managing finance, procurement, and administrative processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across systems.
- Coordinating staff development and travel arrangements, including conferences and overseas visits, ensuring all processes are followed and documented.
- Providing guidance on policies and procedures, supporting staff with finance, HR, and operational queries.
- Monitoring and analysing financial information, supporting planning, forecasting, and resource allocation.
- Supporting recruitment and onboarding of casual staff, including preparing documentation and job adverts.
- Providing administrative and secretarial support to key committees, including health & safety and Athena Swan, ensuring actions are tracked and delivered.
You’ll bring administrative experience from a busy office environment, along with an understanding of finance and/or HR processes. You’ll be organised, able to manage competing priorities, and maintain accuracy in your work.
You’ll be confident working with data and Microsoft Office, using information to support planning and decision‑making. You’ll also be a clear communicator, able to respond to queries and work effectively with colleagues across teams.
Additionally, you’ll:
- have strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
- be able to manage deadlines and changing priorities
- be confident providing clear, accurate advice
- ideally have experience supporting meetings, including minute taking
