Construction Administrative Assistant

The Role

We are looking for an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to join an established construction business, providing day‑to‑day administrative support to the wider project and management teams.

The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience working within the construction industry and be comfortable dealing with project documentation, filing, document control and general construction administration.

This would suit someone who understands the fast‑paced nature of a construction environment and can confidently support both office and project‑based teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide general administrative support to project and management teams.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Assist with document control, ensuring drawings, specifications and project documents are correctly filed and easily accessible.
  • Upload, download and distribute project documentation as required.
  • Maintain document registers and assist with tracking revisions.
  • Prepare and format correspondence, reports and project documentation.
  • Assist with subcontractor and supplier documentation.
  • Maintain project records and databases.
  • Support with meeting administration and taking minutes where required.
  • Respond to general telephone and email enquiries.
  • Liaise with Site Managers, Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and other members of the construction team.
  • Provide additional administrative support as required.
Experience & Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous administration experience within construction or a related industry.
  • Experience with filing, project documentation and/or document control.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Confidence communicating with both site and office‑based construction teams.
  • Previous experience using construction document‑management systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
