At a glanceRole Care Coordinator
Working pattern Office-based on a shift pattern that covers our daytime care rounds, 6am–9pm. Overnight services are arranged separately.
Driving A driving licence is helpful but not essential for an office-based role.
DBS An enhanced DBS check is completed before starting.
Training Induction, plus training on Birdie and our scheduling processes.
The role
Main responsibilities- Planning and maintaining weekly rotas for the care team.
- Matching carers to clients based on skills, location and continuity.
- Communicating with carers about their schedules and changes.
- Liaising with clients and families about visit times.
- Working with the Registered Manager on new packages and capacity.
A day in the role
What a normal shift involvesOffice-based, with phone and Birdie open. Mornings are the busiest — confirming the day's visits, handling any carer call-outs, and adjusting the rota in real time. Afternoons are for planning the coming week and handling new enquiries.
Who we are looking for
Person specificationWhat we look for
- Organised and calm under pressure.
- Good communication, including difficult conversations about timing.
- Comfortable with digital scheduling tools.
- An understanding of how domiciliary care works in practice.
Experience: Previous experience in care coordination or scheduling is valued. Experience in domiciliary care as a carer or coordinator is ideal.
Qualifications: No specific qualification required. Familiarity with care management software is helpful.
