Role OverviewClimate Bonds Initiative is on the lookout for a dynamic and commercially savvy Business Development Manager to spearhead strategic collaborations with private sector financial institutions through the Climate Bonds Network (CBN). This pivotal role is key to Climate Bondsâ mission of propelling climateâaligned finance and acts as the primary initiative for engaging financial institutions on a global scale.
The Business Development Manager collaborates closely with the Client Success team, which focuses on effectively delivering contractual benefits and meticulously tracking member engagement. While the Client Success team manages operational tasks, the Business Development Manager is responsible for enhancing strategic influence, facilitating bilateral information sharing, and promoting the adoption of Climate Bondsâ definitions and criteria. Additionally, this position plays a vital role in achieving NGO impact goals engaging members in grantâfunded initiatives.
A portion of the Business Development Managerâs efforts will be allocated to these projects, underpinning activities such as market development, capacity building, and the advancement of sustainable finance standards.
- Serve as the primary strategic partner for a portfolio of CBN members, deepening relationships and focusing on influence.
- Facilitate reciprocal influence: help members shape Climate Bondsâ work and ensure Climate Bonds reflects market needs.
- Position CBN as the goâto platform for engaging private sector financial institutions on climateâaligned finance.
- Drive strong participation in network activities, strategic dialogues and criteria consultations to accelerate market transformation.
- Support grantâfunded projects by engaging members in capacityâbuilding initiatives and reporting impact outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to members, providing insights on Climate Bondsâ criteria, market trends, and sustainable finance developments.
- Connect members with internal experts and tools to accelerate adoption of climateâaligned investment.
- Deliver engagement and growth for your region, recruiting new Climate Bonds network members and identifying upsell opportunities.
- Create a compelling network experience that attracts and retains members.
- Coâpilot member relationships with Client Success Managers, ensuring strategic engagement complements operational delivery.
- Coordinate internally to align member feedback with product development, criteria evolution, and grantâfunded initiatives.
