can be based at any one of the Arts Council of Wales offices in Cardiff, Colwyn Bay or Carmarthen.

Benefits include 30 days annual leave, 2.5 privilege days, flexible working hours/pattern, cycle to work scheme and a final salary pension (6%).

About the role

We’re looking for a proactive and collaborative Business Enabler to join our Corporate Services team. This newly created role is central to our ambition to provide strategic, responsive and high-quality business support to the arts sector in Wales.

You’ll work closely with our funded organisations, acting as a business partner to help strengthen their resilience, sustainability and impact. You’ll be expected to work independently but also to collaborate with colleagues across the Arts Council, particularly in the Arts and Research teams, to identify needs and deliver tailored support. This could range from designing training through to facilitating and delivering workshops, as well as assessing and monitoring grant applications for support.

You’ll also contribute to sector-wide initiatives, training programmes and the development of new approaches to business and operational development.

This is a dynamic role that will see you using your skills across a broad spectrum of business disciplines, including finance, governance, HR, income generation, climate justice and fundraising.

About you

You’ll be an excellent communicator with experience in business partnering or providing independent operational support to organisations. You’ll be confident navigating complex challenges and building trusted relationships with stakeholders.

You may bring expertise in a specific area, but you’ll also be comfortable working across disciplines and adapting to emerging needs. You’ll be analytical, organised, outcome-focused, and a problem solver, with a commitment to inclusive and ethical practice.

Welsh language

We work in both English and Welsh. Welsh language skills are essential for this role. You will need to be able to communicate in both English and Welsh in meetings, individually and in public. We are looking for an individual who understands the culture of Wales, the diverse relationship of the people of Wales with the Welsh language and who is committed to ensuring a progressive use of Welsh linguistically and culturally within the Arts Council and the wider sector.

Everyone's story with the language is different, and we recognise that Welsh language confidence levels vary from person to person.

Diversity and Inclusion

The Arts Council of Wales is an inclusive employer, and we wish to reflect the diverse communities we serve. Applications from culturally and ethnically diverse people and underrepresented groups are encouraged and warmly welcomed. Applications are welcome in Welsh or English, and we will correspond with you in your language of choice.

The Arts Council of Wales is a Disability Confident employer, committed to interviewing all disabled applicants who meet all the essential criteria set out in the person specification.
