Brief description of role
We are seeking a Production Procurement & Asset Planner, to support our growing production team. This role owns the strategic procurement, asset utilisation analysis, and future – kit availability planning that keeps Cine Ark’s production office running smoothly. You’ll ensure the right equipment is available for upcoming hires, identify shortages early, evaluate purchase options, and work closely with our engineering department to ensure new builds and refurbishments are completed in time for confirmed jobs.
Your goal will be to keep Cine Ark’s rental fleet commercially sharp, technically current, and operationally ready.
Forecasting & Availability Planning
- Future hire analysis — Review upcoming bookings, long – form productions, and tentative enquiries to identify kit shortages or conflicts.
- Shortage flagging — Proactively alert management and operations when stock levels or availability windows are at risk.
- Vendor engagement — Source quotes, negotiate pricing, and maintain relationships with manufacturers and distributors.
- Purchase proposals — Build business cases for new kit purchases, including ROI, utilisation forecasts, and competitive analysis.
- End – of – life alternatives — Identify replacement models when equipment is discontinued or no longer serviceable.
- Cost benchmarking — Compare pricing across suppliers and track historical spend.
- Utilisation reporting — Analyse utilisation rates across all fixed assets to inform purchasing, retirement, and refurbishment decisions.
- Lifecycle tracking — Monitor asset age, service history, and depreciation to guide long – term planning.
- Fleet optimisation — Recommend redistribution, bundling, or decommissioning of under – performing assets.
- Engineering coordination — Work with the engineering team to ensure new builds, custom rigs, and repairs are completed ahead of job deadlines.
- Operations alignment — Partner with bookings, warehouse, and production office teams to maintain accurate availability data.
- Inventory accuracy — Support stock – take cycles and ensure system data reflects real – world asset status.
- Proven experience in procurement, rental operations, production equipment, or broadcast/film technology.
- Strong understanding of camera, grip, lighting, RF, monitoring, and data – handling equipment.
- Ability to interpret utilisation data and turn it into actionable recommendations.
- Commercial awareness: ROI modelling, cost comparison, and supplier negotiation.
- Comfortable working in a fast – paced environment with shifting timelines.

- Detail – driven — Accuracy in availability planning and procurement documentation.
- Commercially minded — Balances cost, performance, and long – term value.

- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Holiday – 31 days per year including UK bank holidays
