As an integral member of the matrix/cross-functional leadership team, the Commercial Business Partner Oncology (m/f/d) contributes to Business Unit (BU) performance by integrating and interpreting commercial, market, and customer data to generate clear, actionable insights and performance narratives that drive execution, accelerate launches and support sustainable growth and competitiveness. Acting as a strategic thought partner to BU leadership, the role identifies key performance drivers, translates complexity into transparency and supports fact-based prioritization and decision-making.
Responsibilities- Enable BU-led performance improvement by identifying and aligning key performance drivers, understanding and monitoring their influencing factors (e.g. in-market activities, competitive environment) and translating these insights into clear, prioritized recommendations that support BU decision-making and operational execution.
- Drive performance management and KPI governance by ensuring transparent tracking, consistent interpretation and proactive escalation of risks, opportunities and deviations.
- Act as a strategic business partner across Sales, Marketing, Medical, Finance and Operations to align priorities, enable consistent execution and support informed decision-making.
- Create compelling performance narratives by simplifying and visualizing complex analyses and clearly explaining the "reason why" behind performance trends for BU and senior leadership.
- Connect Analytics and Sales Force Effectiveness topics by coordinating and prioritizing insights, analyses and operational inputs required to support BU strategy and execution, holding different work streams together and ensuring integrated, data-driven decision-making.
- Leverage the Commercial Business Partner network to create cross-BU value by combining dedicated BU ownership with systematic knowledge sharing of insights, best practices, learnings, competitive intelligence and performance trends across BUs.
- Ensure launch-to-lifecycle continuity by partnering with the Pipeline and Launch Execution Manager (PLEX), taking over responsibility shortly before launch to transition into launch execution tracking and lifecycle management, and coordinating with the Commercial Launch Lead’s launch review team to embed launch learnings into subsequent product lifecycle stages.
- Accelerate operational excellence by streamlining commercial processes and embedding KPI- and dashboard-driven ways of working to improve efficiency, transparency and impact.
- University degree in Business, Life Sciences, Economics, Data Science or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of commercial value drivers, including market dynamics, customer behavior, portfolio performance and competitive landscape.
- Multiple years of experience using analytical and BI tools, CRM systems, forecasting models as well as KPI- and dashboard-based performance management.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, strategic recommendations, demonstrating strong strategic and analytical thinking.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Medical, Finance and Operations.
- Solid commercial acumen with experience in evaluating growth opportunities, prioritizing resources and recommending high-impact actions, including formulating robust business cases and aligning analytical requirements with the Analytics team.
- Strategic & analytical mindset: able to identify patterns, anticipate trends and synthesize complex information into clear insights and implications.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills, building trusted relationships and aligning stakeholders around shared priorities without formal authority.
- Excellent communication skills, able to convey complex topics clearly and concisely to different audiences across field teams and senior leadership.
- Structured, solution-oriented problem-solving approach focused on feasibility, impact and continuous improvement.
- High impact focus with accountability, reliability and strong orientation towards measurable outcomes and operational excellence.
- High adaptability and resilience, with learning agility and a proactive growth mindset in dynamic, ambiguous environments.
- Advanced academic qualifications (e.g. MBA, MSc) are an advantage.
