Role Description
We are actively looking for a colleague to run an efficient and cost-effective material inventory delivery for the engineering function. Ensuring stock accuracy against SAP.
Support Cardiff site vision, to be the home of operational excellence and the customer’s first choice soft drinks manufacturer.
This role supports the overall site delivery and engineering department to ensure quality, legality, food safety, brand integrity and culture is driven and compliant.
Principal Responsibilities- Communicate daily with Engineering Management to ensure parts available for planned maintenance, engineering, and production priorities.
- Control of Engineering stock items
- Monitoring of R+M budget – daily spend sheet
- Constantly challenge stock levels
- Source best practise ways of storing items.
- Team member responsible for audits & reporting to business on Engineering stores area.
- To assist with company cost reduction projects.
- Select best supplier for spares and service.
- Ensure purchased items conform to legislative, moral, and European directive requirements.
- Embrace a culture of safe behaviour and contractors’ health and safety in the store’s areas
- Support a culture enhancing behavioural awareness to minimise accidents and near misses
- Challenge all spares/service requests to ascertain need.
- Complete relevant documentation / Record data in required formats
- Reporting data to required channels including anomalies to the line manager
- Undertake the training of others as required
- Attendance at meetings, at various locations, as required by the line Manager
- Contribute to and help implement continuous improvement, to enhance quality, safety, efficiency, and waste reduction
- Ensure systems for stores to minimise inventory levels and working capital
- Liaise daily/hourly with colleagues within and across function regarding planning/production matters
- Controlling refurbishment of used parts for repair.
- Assisting other departments as and when required – material inventories / consumables
- Communicate daily with engineering to ensure planned maintenance, engineering and production priorities are considered
