Amentum is a Lot 1 key delivery partner within the Decommissioning and Nuclear Waste Partners (DNWP) Framework, a major Sellafield programme worth up to £4.6billion and running for up to 15 years. The framework is focused on safely accelerating decommissioning, remediation and high‑hazard risk reduction across one of the most complex nuclear sites in the world.

Our nuclear team supports the front‑end design, engineering, technical leadership and delivery expertise required across the DNWP portfolio. We are looking for individuals with high‑value expertise from across regulated and comparable sectors to who can work collaboratively, embrace new challenges and contribute to the mission of safely and efficiently delivering Sellafield’s decommissioning and nuclear waste objectives.

About the Opportunity

As a Lead Document Controller you will be responsible for strategic management, governance, and assurance of project and operational documentation within a highly regulated nuclear environment. This role ensures that all documentation processes are robust, compliant, and aligned with nuclear safety, quality, and security standards. Acting as a central point of authority, you will provide leadership to document control team, support project delivery and ensure documentation integrity across the full project lifecycle.

The employee will be expected to contribute to the delivery of social value in line with the DNWP framework, supporting positive outcomes for local communities. Voluntary engagement is supported, with up to 16 hours per full‑time equivalent allocated.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the Document Control function to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality documentation services across projects

  • Establish, implement, and continuously improve document control processes, procedures, and workflows in line with regulatory, quality, and nuclear industry standards

  • Ensure all documentation is compliant with governance frameworks, including nuclear safety, security, and audit requirements

  • Oversee document lifecycle management, including numbering, revision control, metadata management, and archiving

  • Drive the expediting and coordination of project information to support critical programme milestones and delivery schedules

  • Act as the focal point for document control escalation, resolving complex issues and ensuring efficient information flow

  • Provide assurance through document quality reviews, compliance checks, and audit readiness activities
