Supervising Social Worker | South Wales
Seeking a dedicated and insightful Supervising Social Worker to join an IFA based in Cardiff. This role is designed for a practitioner who is passionate about elevating the standards of foster care and ensuring that every young person receives a tailored package of support. Summary of Job- Location & Coverage: Based in Cardiff, covering a manageable caseload across the South Wales region.
- Caseload Management: Maintaining low caseloads, typically responsible for up to 13 fostering families to ensure high-quality intervention.

- Assessment: Conducting objective professional assessments of children and young people to identify and meet their specific needs.
- On-Call Support: Participating in a regular out-of-hours on-call rota to provide essential wrap-around support for foster parents.
- Service Growth: Actively contributing to the dynamic growth of the fostering service through creative and reflective practice.
- Safeguarding: Upholding rigorous safeguarding protocols and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements.
Requirements
The ideal candidate must hold a Social Work qualification and be registered (or eligible for registration) with Social Care Wales
. Proven experience in fostering or child social care (such as Looked After Children teams) is essential. While not a requirement, the ability to speak Welsh is highly desirable.
