Design Manager

Position: Design Manager (Permanent)
Involve Recruitment are working with a well-established and highly regarded residential developer/contractor who are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their growing team in Cardiff.

This role will focus on managing the design process across residential new-build developments, working closely with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure designs are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements.

The Role

* Managing the design process from planning through to construction and completion

* Coordinating external consultants including architects, engineers, and specialists

* Ensuring designs comply with building regulations, planning conditions, and employer’s requirements

* Managing design programmes and information flow to support construction teams

* Identifying and resolving design risks, clashes, and buildability issues

* Supporting value engineering while maintaining quality and design intent

* Attending design team meetings and liaising with internal stakeholders

About You

* Previous experience in a Design Manager or Design Coordinator role within residential construction or development

* Strong understanding of residential design, building regulations, and construction processes

* Experience working on housing developments or mixed-use residential schemes

* Confident communicator, comfortable managing consultants and stakeholders

* Organised, proactive, and commercially aware

* Relevant construction or design-related qualification preferred
