Quantity Surveyor

Involve Recruitment are seeking an Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor with experience in food retail, fit-out, refurbishment. With a strong and growing pipeline of work , our client is looking for a motivated and commercially aware QS to join their team, working under the guidance of experienced Surveyors and Senior Surveyors to support projects from pre-construction through to final account.

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the preparation of cost plans, budgets, and estimates for food retail projects

* Support procurement activities, including tendering and contractor appointments

* Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow, reporting to the lead Surveyor

* Assist with interim valuations, cost reporting, and final account preparation

* Work closely with Project Managers, designers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery

* Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures, and commercial best practice

* Support value engineering and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards

* Assist in the delivery of supermarket refurbishments, rollouts, and new store developments

Requirements

* Degree-qualified (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline

* Experience with in food retail, fit-out, refurbishment, or new build projects (level dependent)

* Working knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles

* Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills

* Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced retail environment

* Good communication and stakeholder management skills

* Competent with cost management and reporting software

* MRICS or working towards (desirable but not essential)
