We're seeking a Site Manager to run the delivery of a new multi‑storey car park (MSCP) project in Cardiff for a major European design‑and‑build contractor operating across the UK. You'll oversee daily site operations, subcontractors, programme, safety, and quality. Experience on MSCP or concrete/steel frame structures is essential. MEP knowledge is important for coordination. You'll manage M&E packages delivered by specialist subcontractors (not self‑delivery).
WhatYou'll Be Doing
- Lead day‑to‑day site operations, including logistics, briefings, permits and look‑ahead planning.
- Manage programme delivery: track progress, sequence works, identify risks and drive mitigation actions.
- Oversee quality & compliance: ITPs, QA records, snagging, defect management and handover documentation.
- Provide strong H&S leadership: RAMS reviews, inductions, toolbox talks and safe‑system oversight.
- Coordinate subcontractors across structural, façade and MEP trades; monitor progress versus plan.
- Work with commercial teams on measures, variations and progress validation.
- Maintain clear communication with PM/client, issuing concise evidence‑based updates.
- Manage interfaces for EV‑readiness, lighting, way finding, fire/life‑safety systems and metering.
- Proven track record as a Site Manager on Multi‑Story Car Parks (MSCPs) or comparable concrete/steel frame builds.
- Strong MEP coordination exposure (electrical packages, containment, LV systems, lighting, controls, fire/life‑safety).
- SMSTS and CSCS (Black/Gold ideal).
- Good command of RAMS, permits, temporary works coordination and QA processes (ITPs, test packs, handover).
- Confident with short‑term planning, look‑aheads and progress reporting.
- Calm, organised communicator who drives safe, compliant, on‑programme delivery.
- NEC contract experience in main‑contractor environments.
- Considerate Constructors‑style mindset for public‑realm interfaces.
- Freelance for 3+ months (extensions likely based on programme and performance).
- £250-£300 per day (DOE).
- Choose to work 3, 4 or 5 weekdays (Mon‑Fri).
- Working until 1pm on Saturday is mandatory (paid at full day rate).
- CIS payment available.
