Design Manager

Involve Recruitment are working with a well-established and highly regarded residential developer/contractor who are looking to appoint a Design Manager to join their growing team in Cardiff.

This role will focus on managing the design process across residential new-build developments, working closely with internal teams, external consultants, and contractors to ensure designs are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and in line with programme requirements.

• Managing the design process from planning through to construction and completion
• Coordinating external consultants including architects, engineers, and specialists
• Ensuring designs comply with building regulations, planning conditions, and employer's requirements
• Managing design programmes and information flow to support construction teams
• Identifying and resolving design risks, clashes, and buildability issues
• Supporting value engineering while maintaining quality and design intent
• Attending design team meetings and liaising with internal stakeholders

• Previous experience in a Design Manager or Design Coordinator role within residential construction or development
• Strong understanding of residential design, building regulations, and construction processes
• Experience working on housing developments or mixed‑use residential schemes
• Confident communicator, comfortable managing consultants and stakeholders
• Organised, proactive, and commercially aware
• Relevant construction or design‑related qualification preferred
