Role descriptionThe Building Surveyor will work with education clients across the UK, delivering capital works and conducting condition surveys. The role involves managing multiple projects simultaneously, focusing on high‑quality service, client engagement, and efficient time and cost management.
Role accountabilities- The primary focus is the successful delivery of capital works on educational assets.
- Take on significant responsibility and accountability, with opportunities for managerial and technical skill development.
- Manage and deliver professional consultancy commissions, such as condition surveys and, occasionally, dilapidations.
- Ensure effective communication throughout each project.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Team Leaders to maintain efficient financial control and provide a cost‑effective service.
- Inform the Sector Director on contract progress with clear, quantified updates.
- Support the development of junior building surveyors through mentoring and supervision.
- Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent.
- MRICS qualified or actively working toward chartership.
- Strong technical skills and experience across multiple disciplines.
- Broad, strategic thinker with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
- Skilled at managing project risk and maintaining high quality standards.
- Flexible and able to meet tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of the challenges faced by education clients.
- Knowledgeable of technical, legislative, and commercial aspects of building surveying.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship‑building skills, enabling strong client partnerships.
