Assistant Site Manager

A leading Tier 1 Main Contractor is seeking an ambitious and driven Assistant Site Manager to join the team on a major flagship construction project in Cardiff. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a high-profile, technically challenging development that will become a landmark scheme within the region.

Working alongside an experienced senior management team, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of the project from construction through to completion, ensuring works are carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the day-to-day management of site operations
Coordinate subcontractors and monitor progress against programme
Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times
Support quality control and snagging processes
Liaise with site teams, consultants, and stakeholders
Maintain accurate site records and reports
Help drive productivity and programme performance

Requirements

Previous experience working for a Tier 1 Main Contractor
Experience as either an Assistant Site Manager or Site Supervisor on large-scale construction projects
Strong understanding of site operations, sequencing, and subcontractor management
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Knowledge of health & safety regulations and site procedures
SMSTS/SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certifications preferred
Proactive attitude with the ambition to progress within a leading contractor environment
