Estimator, Construction

Reporting to the Managing Estimator, you will provide land and tender appraisals in a timely manner whilst maximising the land value, development margin and return on capital employed. You will join a growing team of passionate and dedicated Pre‑construction professionals, providing commercial support to the estimating team throughout the region and developing relationships with internal project teams and our supply chain.

• Supporting the Estimating team in the identification of risks and the application of the commercial standing instructions
• Ensuring that commercial opportunities are optimised and the company's position is always suitably protected
• Consistently providing timely and accurate estimates, pre‑acquisition studies, etc., fully utilising the House builder appraisal system
• Ensuring accurate and timely subcontract enquiries are used in the formulation of bids where applicable and resolving all issues prior to land appraisal adjudication
• Carrying out site visits on new opportunities and existing developments to understand construction methods

• Previous experience in a similar role with commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management
• Good knowledge of Excel and the ability to prepare and understand financial reports
• Understanding of sub‑contract orders and buying processes
• Good IT skills; previous experience of estimating software is advantageous but not essential
• Current driving licence (essential for the role)
