Permanent – 37.5 Hours per week

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Estimator to join our team within Lovell’s South West & Wales region based out of our Cardiff office working primarily on the Cardiff Council & Vale of Glamorgan Council New Housing Partnership.

Reporting to the Managing Estimator, you will provide land and tender appraisals in a timely manner whilst maximising the land value, development margin and return on capital employed.

You will join a growing team of passionate and dedicated Pre‑construction professionals, providing commercial support to the estimating team throughout the region all whilst forming and developing relationships with the internal project teams and our supply chain.

We are looking for an individual who shares our passion for the project at hand, whilst also being able to work within a hardworking team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting the Estimating team in the identification of risks and the application of the commercial standing instructions
  • Ensuring that commercial opportunities are optimised, and the company’s position is always suitably protected.
  • Consistent provision of timely and accurate estimates, pre‑acquisition studies, etc. fully utilising the House builder appraisal system
  • Ensuring accurate and timely subcontract enquiries are used in the formulation of bids where applicable and resolving all issues prior to land appraisal adjudication.
  • Carrying out site visits on new opportunities and existing developments to understand construction methods.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience within a similar role, with commercial skills to maximise value recovery, cost control and cash management.
  • Good knowledge of Excel and ability to prepare and understand financial reports.
  • Good IT skills; previous experience of estimating software is advantageous but not essential.
  • Held a current driving licence.
