Little More About Your Role

We are seeking an NEC Site Supervisor to join our Local Government team in Cardiff, supporting the delivery of a wide range of highways and infrastructure projects across the region. You will be working as part of a collaborative construction team – made up of Quantity Surveyors, Site Supervisors and NEC Project Managers – and will be focused on the delivery of a wide variety of highways, bridges and infrastructure projects on behalf of Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend and Merthyr Tydfil councils.

As an NEC Site Supervisor you will be responsible for discharging the duties of a Supervisor under the NEC contract, working closely with the construction teams to oversee the safe, compliant and efficient delivery of highways construction and maintenance works; liaising contractors onsite and acting as a key link between contractors, clients and project managers.

Core Responsibilities
  • Ensure all works are carried out safely and comply with CDM regulations, highway standards and site‑specific risk assessments.
  • Monitor site conditions and update risk assessments as conditions change. Work alongside the NEC Project Manager to notify defects, raise early warnings and compensation events.
  • Inspect completed works and verify compliance with design standards; raise and resolve quality issues and non‑conformances.
  • Attend site meetings and communicate progress, risks and issues. Maintain site diaries, progress reports, inspections, delivery records and photographs.
  • Use Construction Management Systems to produce comprehensive NEC Supervisor Report for the NEC Management Team and Client.
What we will be looking for
  • A good knowledge of highways construction methodology, either achieved through site operative experience or a designer background.
  • Familiarity with the NEC Construction Contracts.
  • Able to demonstrate high standards of health and safety for yourself and others in relation to construction activities and a sound understanding of the relevant H&S legislation.
  • A keen eye for detail and the ability to work accurately and methodically to verify that construction work is delivered as designed and meets the specification.
  • Confident communication with the ability to convey your point of view to a varied audience and keep stakeholders and colleagues informed.
