Site Manager (Social Housing Retrofit & EWI)
South Wales Permanent or Freelance Considered
40,000 - 45,000 + Company Van or Allowance & Benefits Package
We are working with a well-established South Wales contractor that is undergoing significant expansion following the award of further social housing retrofit and decarbonisation projects across the region.
As part of the growth of its specialist retrofit division, the business is seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of External Wall Insulation (EWI), refurbishment, energy efficiency and planned improvement works within occupied social housing environments.
This is an opportunity to join a contractor with a growing pipeline of secured work and play a key role within a dedicated team focused on improving housing stock and delivering long-term value for local communities.
Due to the nature of the work, this position is not about managing large value flagship projects. Success comes from understanding retrofit construction, social housing delivery and having the confidence to identify problems, make decisions and keep projects moving safely and efficiently. Project values could typically range from around 1 mil to 5 mil.
The Role- Managing the day-to-day delivery of social housing retrofit and refurbishment projects.
- Overseeing External Wall Insulation (EWI), fabric improvement and energy efficiency works.
- Coordinating subcontractors, suppliers and site teams.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
- Managing site documentation, compliance and reporting requirements.
- Liaising with clients, tenants, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
- Identifying site risks, resolving issues and driving project performance.
- Supporting project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within:
- Social housing planned works.
- External Wall Insulation (EWI) projects.
- Retrofit and decarbonisation programmes.
- Refurbishment and maintenance contracts.
- Fabric improvement works.
- Traditional construction environments.
You will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous Site Management experience within social housing, refurbishment, maintenance or retrofit sectors.
- A sound understanding of EWI systems and retrofit construction methods.
- Experience managing occupied properties and tenant-facing projects.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- The ability to manage subcontractors and multiple work streams effectively.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- The confidence to work independently without constant supervision.
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.
- Join a busy contractor that continues to secure significant social housing retrofit work across South Wales.
- Be part of a rapidly expanding specialist retrofit division.
- Work on technically challenging projects that improve homes and communities.
- Play an influential role within a growing team rather than being a small cog in a large organisation.
- Permanent and freelance applicants will both be considered.
- Long-term opportunities with a strong pipeline of secured work.
- Potential for rapid career development and growth.
