At Balfour Beatty Power T&D, we're helping to build and maintain the UK's critical energy infrastructure. Due to increased demand across our DNO Wales projects, we are looking for an experienced Site Manager to join our team based from our Cardiff Depot.
About the RoleAs a Site Manager, you will be responsible for safely delivering construction activities on power infrastructure projects, ensuring works are completed to programme, budget, quality and safety requirements. You will provide leadership to site teams, subcontractors and suppliers while supporting the wider project delivery team in achieving key project objectives.
You will play a vital role in driving a positive safety culture, managing resources effectively, maintaining project records, and ensuring the successful delivery of works from planning through to commissioning and handover. The role includes managing site activities, promoting Zero Harm, coordinating resources, maintaining compliance and supporting project delivery.
What you'll be doing- Lead and manage day-to-day site operations across DNO Wales projects.
- Ensure all works are delivered safely and in line with Balfour Beatty s Zero Harm culture.
- Manage site teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners.
- Monitor project progress and maintain accurate site records and reports.
- Lead site briefings, toolbox talks and safety initiatives.
- Review and implement RAMS and other site documentation.
- Coordinate labour, plant, materials and resources to ensure efficient delivery.
- Support the management of programme, quality and commercial performance.
- Identify, manage and escalate risks, issues and opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- Experience managing construction or utility infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of safe systems of work and risk management.
- Experience leading site teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and solve problems effectively.
- Good understanding of project delivery and construction methodologies.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience with in Power Transmission & Distribution, utilities or energy infrastructure.
- Experience working on DNO projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications.
- CSCS and SSSTS (or equivalent) qualifications.
