An established and growing refurbishment contractor is looking to recruit an Estimator to join its Cardiff office.
Operating across South Wales and the South West, the company delivers a diverse range of commercial and industrial refurbishment, fit out and construction projects for an established portfolio of clients. With a strong pipeline of secured work and ambitious growth plans, this is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business where your contribution will have a direct impact on future project wins.
The successful candidate will play a key role within the pre-construction team, working closely with senior management to prepare competitive tenders and support the continued growth of the business.
The Role- Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
- Producing take-offs and pricing schedules
- Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identifying project risks and value engineering opportunities
- Attending site visits and pre-tender meetings where required
- Liaising with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Supporting project handovers following successful tender awards
- Commercial refurbishments
- Office fit outs
- Industrial unit and warehouse refurbishments
- Dilapidation works
- Roofing and cladding packages
- General construction and improvement works
To be considered for this role you will need estimating experience within refurbishment, fit out, commercial, industrial or build contracting environments.
You may currently be working as an:- Estimator
- Senior Estimator
- Assistant Estimator
- Quantity Surveyor with estimating responsibilities
- Previous estimating experience within the construction industry
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
- The ability to interpret drawings and technical information
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive and organised approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Salary depending on experience
