About the Opportunity

We are working with a growing and well-established engineering and construction business that is looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded professional to take ownership of project finances and contractual matters across a varied portfolio of projects. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and key stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered profitably, risks are effectively managed, and commercial objectives are achieved.

This role would suit an established Quantity Surveyor seeking a long-term opportunity within a supportive and expanding organisation.

Quantity Surveyor

- Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the commercial performance of projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitoring costs, budgets and project profitability.
  • Preparing valuations, applications for payment and commercial reports.
  • Managing variations, change control and commercial negotiations.
  • Supporting procurement and subcontractor management activities.
  • Reviewing commercial and contractual documentation.
  • Contributing to forecasting, financial planning and project reporting.
  • Managing commercial risks and identifying opportunities to improve project performance.
  • Supporting the agreement of final accounts and successful project close-out.
Your Skills & Experience
  • Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial role.
  • Strong understanding of cost management and commercial controls.
  • Experience managing valuations, variations and subcontract accounts.
  • Good contractual awareness within a construction or engineering environment.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent commercial acumen and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and commercial management systems.
