Introduction

Artelier is a leading international Art Consultancy based in the UK and Spain. We work on iconic projects worldwide, including public art, exhibitions, private residences, yachts, aviation, corporate and hotels. We are a small, passionate team of dedicated professionals.

Education and Experience
  • At least 10 years’ professional experience researching, curating, designing, and managing FF&E and Art for international commercial, hospitality, and private projects – not galleries and museums.
  • Minimum university degree in project management and/or architecture, interiors/design, or an art-related subject.
Highly Desirable Criteria
  • Track record of delivering large-scale and complex international design projects and programmes.
  • Experience managing budgets over £1m.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, imports/exports, and overseas logistics solutions.
  • Team leadership and ability to inspire and manage a team of 5 or more.
  • Proficiency with project management software, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and AutoCAD.
  • Experience working closely with client teams and managing project relations.
  • Experience managing suppliers – especially artists and galleries.
  • Portfolio of design work and curation for projects, including concept presentations, detailed design, specification, and documentation.
  • Passion for modern and contemporary art and a genuine desire to expand knowledge in this field.
Key Responsibilities

Art Research & Curation

  • Research artists and maintain an extensive knowledge of contemporary art, craft, and design, including detailed making processes and materiality.
  • Lead a cutting-edge approach to art curation, staying ahead of latest developments relevant to our industries.
  • Develop sophisticated, well-researched, and contextually relevant art concept presentations.
  • Refine concept presentations through to schematic design mark-ups on floor plans, elevations, and renders.
  • Prepare detailed design documents and schedules with item specification, procurement details, and supplier information.
  • Liaise with suppliers to establish stock levels, commissioning details, and arrange sampling.
  • Attend project sites to curate pieces and sign off final presentation.
  • Maintain strong understanding of artistic processes, materials, and production methods to support decision making and quality control.
  • Source suitable suppliers for artwork production, framing, and installation.
  • Review design documentation and verify artwork specifications ahead of supply.
  • Manage orders and contracts with artists, overseeing the commissioning process and identifying challenges early.
  • Troubleshoot technical or aesthetic issues with artworks and collaborate with artists to find solutions.
  • Oversee artwork inspections at studio and storage, ensuring quality standards are met and escalating issues to the Director when necessary.

Project Management & Delivery

  • Manage project timelines, track progress of artwork orders, and provide regular reports to the Director.
  • Liaise with clients to provide updates, including schedules, sampling, artwork progress, and completion.
  • Supervise and support project assistants and art technicians to ensure project goals are achieved.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring delivery within budget, including quotes, orders, and payment tracking.
  • Track client payments and liaise with the Director to ensure cash flow.
  • Coordinate with shipping partners for large complex international shipments, including quotes, invoicing, and export documentation.
  • Assist clients during the delivery stage to ensure smooth logistics.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trusted logistics and shipping partners.
  • Oversee the installation of international projects and coordinate installation teams to ensure smooth on-site delivery.

General

You will also perform day-to-day administrative tasks, travel to suppliers, clients, and project locations, and be a confident, client-facing professional who works well in a team and brings a personable presence to our friendly environment.
