The Role &Key Responsibilities
Are you a talented and passionate graphic designer who can help support our vital work to prevent crime, catch criminals and protect the communities of Sussex?
Sussex Police is looking for a content creator with the right blend of energy, innovation and attention to detail to develop multi-media assets for a range of on and offline channels.
A specialist in layout and graphic design, you will create content for internal and external audiences, ensuring the corporate brand is developed and maintained, and remains a trusted and respected symbol of professionalism, public service and commitment.
You will be able to evidence a portfolio of multi-channel content, including illustration and animation, and demonstrate your ability to interpret and deliver to creative briefs, often working to short deadlines while ensuring your work fits the wider communications strategy.
You will be adept at managing competing demands with a sound awareness of priorities and delivery timescales. You will be across emerging technologies and have the latest skills and applications for multimedia production, bringing ideas and testing new ways to maximise engagement with our service.
You will be part of an energetic and multi-skilled team providing 24/7 support to help prevent crime and protect people.
Key Responsibilities- Concept development:
Collaborate with colleagues in the Media and Communications Department to understand project requirements and develop creative concepts that meet the strategic objectives of the department and the wider business. - Visual design:
Create and refine design elements such as images, typography, illustration, animation and layouts for digital and print media. - Brand Consistency:
Ensure all designs adhere to the company's branding guidelines and maintain visual consistency across all platforms. - Software Proficiency:
Use graphic design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other tools to produce high-quality assets. - Project Management:
Manage multiple design projects, ensuring timely delivery and meeting deadlines. - Stay updated:
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, new design techniques, and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and creativity. - Production:
Prepare and set up files appropriately for digital and print vendors, ensuring accuracy and quality in the final output. - Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade and character of work as may be reasonably required, including specific duties of a similar or lesser graded post.
- Strong appreciation and experience of effective design with a good understanding of typography.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with clients and colleagues.
- Strong working knowledge of relevant Adobe Creative Cloud applications including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator.
- Meticulous approach to design, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines efficiently.
- Ability to think critically and creatively to overcome design challenges.
