Position: Experienced Architect/ Assistant (Designer)

Overview

Anderselite are currently representing a busy Cardiff based architectural practice that delivers to a wide range of sectors including residential, retail and commercial. They consistently put their clients’ needs at the forefront of everything they do, invest in innovation and strive to always challenge the boundaries faced across the industry. They have recently secured a number of exciting new projects and are looking to grow their team.

This role offers an opportunity to join a friendly, progressive, design‑focused and inclusive practice, working out of a studio with excellent amenities including free parking.

Responsibilities
  • Take on responsibility to feed into workload discussions and support others in delivering projects.
  • Provide project leadership, building strong rapport and creating positive, lasting relationships.
  • Brief and delegate packages of work, empowering junior team members.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of the discipline, ensuring continued professional development.
  • Interrogate information with an awareness of coordination issues and design items that could impact legislative compliance.
  • Show ability and understanding of financial implications of design decisions or changes requested by clients.
  • Develop and apply knowledge of a variety of construction methods and planning policy to inform the design team.
  • Maintain awareness of past, current and future legislation and uphold a high standard of design quality.
  • Prepare and coordinate detailed design and production information, including drawings and documents for the design stages of projects.
  • Lead day‑to‑day management of models and drawings using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Input into office BIM/CAD processes and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Revit and/or AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in presentation software including Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch‑Up or similar.
  • Ability to produce clear visual and verbal presentations and explain design ideas and concept evolution.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including understanding sensitivities when communicating with and presenting to clients.
