Architectural Retail Technician​/Designer; AutoCAD

A respected UK architectural practice with a strong national presence is seeking a Retail Architectural Technician / Designer to join its Cardiff studio. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a collaborative, design‑focused environment delivering retail, banking, commercial and multi‑site rollout projects across the UK.

You will play a key role in producing technical drawing packages, supporting design development, and coordinating with internal teams and external consultants. The position offers exposure to a wide range of project types, with a particular focus on retail and repeat‑site programmes where accuracy, efficiency and consistency are essential.

• AutoCAD technical production – creating detailed plans, elevations, sections and construction details.
• Design development for retail and commercial environments.
• Supporting BIM/3D modelling workflows where required.
• Coordinating with architects, technologists, engineers and contractors.
• Preparing tender, building regulation and construction‑stage documentation.
• Ensuring compliance with UK Building Regulations and project standards.

The Cardiff office delivers projects across retail, education, housing, workplace, healthcare, banking and heritage sectors. • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (essential).
• Experience in retail, commercial or rollout projects is highly advantageous.
