Aboutthe Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Architectural BIM Technician to join our Energy Unit within the Nuclear, Civil and Defence division. This role will form part of the project design function, supporting the delivery of buildings and infrastructure design for a major critical national infrastructure project in nuclear and/or defence.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BIM professional to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects within a highly regulated environment. You will apply your technical expertise and professional judgement to deliver architectural BIM models, drawings and schedules, while supporting design coordination and mentoring junior team members.
As a Senior Architectural BIM Technician, you will undertake complex and non‑standard assignments, using both technical knowledge and lateral thinking to solve problems and deliver high‑quality outcomes. You will be responsible for evaluating alternatives, making informed decisions within your area of expertise, and coordinating the work of others where required.
You will be expected to develop strong working relationships across project teams, maintain a service‑oriented mindset, and act as a trusted source of technical advice and guidance for colleagues and stakeholders.
About YouWe’re looking for a motivated and collaborative individual with significant experience in BIM delivery and architectural design within complex project environments. You will have a strong understanding of BIM processes, excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
Candidate SpecificationWhat We’re Looking For:
- Recognised qualification in a relevant discipline (minimum ONC/BTEC qualification, HNC preferred)
- Extensive years’ design experience, ideally including at least 5 years within a regulated industry (nuclear or defence preferred but not essential)
- Membership of a relevant professional institution
- Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, with demonstrable experience producing architectural models, drawings and schedules in accordance with project and company standards
- Experience delivering BIM solutions across multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly and effectively
- Experience coordinating design information and prioritising competing project demands
- Proven ability to support, develop and mentor junior team members
- Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC)
- Clash detection and resolution processes
- Working on large‑scale infrastructure, nuclear, defence or other highly regulated projects
