Position Overview
Are you looking to make a real difference in the lives of people living with cancer? We have an exciting opportunity to develop and shape Speech and Language Therapy within the Acute Oncology Service (AOS) at the University Hospital of Wales. The AOS supports patients admitted with complications of cancer, side effects of treatment, or new cancer diagnoses, ensuring timely, expert care that enhances experience, enables early discharge, and avoids unnecessary admissions.
You’ll lead the development of SLT within AOS while providing clinical sessions in Acute Medicine, supporting and supervising junior colleagues across Medicine, Specialist, and Surgical wards. Join a service with a strong ethos of support, regular training, and peer supervision. You’ll also benefit from close links with the Acute and Head & Neck SLT teams and wider CPD opportunities.
