We offer a competitive sessional rate and we are flexible to applicants wanting to work between 4 and 8 sessions pw. We are flexible to consider long term locums as well as salaried positions.

Key responsibilities:

• Delivering exceptional healthcare to patients, diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions
• Collaborating within the multi-disciplinary team to ensure comprehensive, co-ordinated and high quality patient care
• Participating in clinical meetings, case discussions, and continuous professional development activities
• Adhering to best practice guidelines, ethical standards and regulatory requirements
• Contributing to quality improvement initiatives and promoting a culture of excellence
• Flexibility to provide a mix of telephone and face to face patient appointments

We are fully engaged with our local Primary Care Networks, including provision of localised services and we host at one of our sites some of the Sutton borough extended access services.

In accordance with the practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including;

• face to face consultations, telephone consultations and answering queries
• visiting patients at home
• checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries relating to medicines management
• dealing with paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
• making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care professionals
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
• Providing counselling and health education
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
• Collecting data for audit purposes
• Prescribing in accordance with the local prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
