CONSULTANT IN GENERAL ANAESTHESIA AND CHRONIC PAIN MANAGEMENT

Session coverage includes a variety of surgical disciplines such as General, Vascular, Neuro, Urology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Head & Neck, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Breast, Thrombectomy and Gynaecological Surgery. Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be expected. The Anaesthetic Department has a very active ongoing academic research programme.

Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.

Applicants should be fully registered with the GMC and ideally have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthetics or be within 6 months of award of a CCT at the time of interview.

You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The salary range for this post is £114, 099 to £ £166,585 per annum.

The successful candidate will have a primary role within the Chronic Pain Service alongside the wider general anaesthetic work of the Department. They will provide cross-cover for consultant colleagues where practical, ensuring continuity of service and effective utilisation of the consultant workforce in accordance with the agreed job plan.

Sessions are available in a variety of surgical disciplines including Vascular Surgery, Neuroradiology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Head & Neck Surgery, Ophthalmology, Trauma, Major Trauma, General and Gynaecological Surgery.

Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be expected.
