Position: Learning Support Assistant (Temporary)
Are you a fluent Welsh speaker who enjoys helping young people learn and feel confident in school?

Teacher Active is working with a welcoming Welsh-medium secondary school in Cardiff, and they’re looking for a friendly, supportive Learning Support Assistant to join their team.

This is a lovely opportunity to work in a school where the Welsh language is celebrated every day, and where your support can genuinely make a difference to pupils who need a little extra help in class.

You’ll be supporting pupils during lessons, helping them stay focused, understand their work, and feel confident taking part. Some pupils may need one-to-one support, while others just need a bit of guidance within small groups.

You won’t be expected to plan lessons or teach — just to be a calm, reassuring and positive presence in the classroom.

Requirements

• Are a fluent Welsh speaker

• Have experience supporting young people (in a school or similar setting)

• Are patient, kind and enjoy helping others

• Feel comfortable working with KS3 and KS4 pupils

• Can work well as part of a busy, friendly school team
