YOURKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Preparing live and pre‑recorded programmes in studio and on location
- Developing research and production skills
- Providing comprehensive support for all aspects of programme production
- Creating multi‑platform content across all Radio Wales programmes
- Working as part of a team and seeing your creative ideas come to life
- Studio operation skills
In addition to on‑job learning, you will attend learning blocks (up to a week at a time) with a learning provider, working towards a Level 3 Production Assistant apprenticeship qualification. Learning blocks will be a mixture of in‑person and virtual delivery.
YOUR SKILLS AND ELIGIBILITYWe’re looking for potential rather than qualifications. If you bring these skills and experiences, we’d love to hear from you:
- Self‑motivation and ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Team player who collaborates flexibly and effectively with colleagues, presenters and contributors
- Good communication skills – conveying information and collaborating effectively
- Attention to detail – accurate record‑taking and completed tasks
- Adaptability – adjusting to new situations quickly and efficiently
- Creativity – generating new and creative ideas
This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates
. If you have a degree, consider other apprenticeship schemes or roles at the BBC.
- Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026
- Have lived continuously in the UK for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship
- Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship
- Not currently be enrolled in another apprenticeship programme
- No prior learning is required to apply
- Identify as disabled under the Equality Act (2010)
