We are seeking a passionate, committed Secondary Teacher to join our team and make a real difference in students' lives. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate high-quality, adaptive teaching that improves social and personal and academic outcomes for each student. You’ll create a classroom where students feel safe, challenged, and empowered to re-engage with learning.
You will work closely with our Senior Leadership Team, support staff, families and external agencies to ensure students not only meet their potential but are also ready for life beyond school.
Key Responsibilities Teaching & Learning- Plan inclusive, trauma-informed lessons aligned with the school’s literacy and numeracy frameworks.
- Deliver engaging, real-world learning that fosters curiosity, resilience, and independence.
- Use formative and summative assessments to tailor teaching and close learning gaps.
- Update student data regularly and plan timely interventions.
- Model calm, positive language that builds self-regulation and confidence.
- Maintain a safe, organised and supportive learning environment.
- Be constantly alert to signs of abuse or neglect; report concerns immediately.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle all personal information securely.
- Embed safeguarding themes in everyday learning.
- Promote equality of opportunity and celebrate the diversity of our community.
- A teacher with a passion for inclusive, trauma-informed education.
- Experience or strong interest in working with learners with ALN or SEMH needs.
- Strong planning and assessment skills.
- Ability to build trust and strong relationships with students, staff and families.
- Calm under pressure, emotionally intelligent and resilient.
