Hours:
8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday to Friday. We are seeking a caring, dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in a Year 1 classroom, providing 1:1 support for a pupil with mild Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil with autism.
- Assist the child in accessing the curriculum and completing classroom activities.
- Support the pupil's social and emotional development, helping them build positive relationships with peers.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement strategies and interventions that meet the child's individual needs.
- Encourage confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
- Support the wider classroom environment when appropriate.
- Experience working with primary-aged children, preferably in a school setting.
- Understanding of autism and strategies that support pupils with additional needs.
- Patient, nurturing behaviour and ability to build positive relationships with children.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
