Cover Supervisor – Cardiff Secondary Schools

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Deliver pre‑planned lessons across a range of subjects
• Manage behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment
• Support students to stay engaged and complete their work
• Build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Gain exposure to a variety of departments and year groups

• Long‑term placements – stability and progression
• Become part of one school community
• Build strong relationships with staff and pupils
• Gain consistency and routine in your working week
• Excellent pathway into teaching, pastoral or permanent school roles
• Flexible / multi‑school roles – variety and experience
• Work across different Cardiff schools – no two days are the same
• Rapidly build confidence in behaviour management
• Experience a range of school environments before committing long‑term
• Ideal if you want flexibility around other commitments

• Graduates considering a career in teaching
• Sports coaches, youth workers or tutors with behaviour experience
• Teaching Assistants looking to step up into leading a class
• Confident individuals who enjoy working with young people

• Strong communication skills and confidence leading a classroom
• A calm, professional approach to behaviour management
• Proactive attitude – willing to support the wider school team
• Experience working with young people is desirable
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
