Temporary Maternity Cover up to 12 months or until the post holder returns; whichever is earlier (from September 2026).

The Governors of Abercerdin Primary School wish to appoint an excellent teacher to cover the duration of the Maternity Leave, starting September 2026. We are looking for an outstanding practitioner who will work with colleagues to provide inspirational learning experiences for all our pupils.

• Demonstrate excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
• Have a very good understanding of Curriculum for Wales.
• Be enthusiastic and committed to providing children with rich, rewarding and authentic learning experiences.
• Display high expectations of achievement, standards and behaviour.
• Have the ability to create a happy, challenging and effective learning environment.
• Be able to work as part of a committed team and be fully supportive of the values and ethos of our inclusive school.
• Be able to greet customers through the medium of Welsh.
• Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
• An Enhanced with Children’s Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
