A vibrant and inclusive primary school in the CF11 area is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN). The school caters for children aged 3-11, including nursery, and has a warm, multicultural community of over 300 pupils.
About the RoleThis role involves providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with ALN, helping them access learning and fully engage in school life.
You will work closely with the class teacher and additional support staff to deliver a tailored and nurturing learning experience, adapting approaches to meet the individual needs of the child.
Key Responsibilities- Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with Additional Learning Needs.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and abilities.
- Support emotional, social, and behavioural development.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil and their family.
- Contribute to planning and evaluating individual support strategies.
- Patient, caring, and resilient.
- Experience supporting children with ALN or additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of child development.
- Can adapt to meet individual learning styles and needs.
- Works well as part of a team and shows initiative.
- Strong literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
- Supportive and experienced staff team.
- Excellent facilities and resources.
- Ongoing training and professional development, particularly in ALN support.
- A positive and inclusive working environment.
- Free child protection and prevent duty training.
- Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
- Enhanced DBS check.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
